I have tried everything I know. I pulled the HI voltage wire from the coil off the distributor cap and held it close to ground, turn the engine over and I get spark. I hooked it back up to the cap and pulled one of the spark plug wires off and hold it close to ground and turn the engine over. I get no spark at all. it was working the other day. At first I was not getting spark from the coil at all, but a adjusted a screw under the rotor cap and it started working. I have no idea why i can't get spark to the plugs. please help!

It sounds like to me you need a better ground wire from the dist to engine. What is this screw you said you adjusted? Got a pic?

ok so i got a new coil and points, installed nothing changed. What is the recommended point gap. The screw I turned was the adjustment for the points.
