I'm about 9hrs away from where my CJ5 is being stored right now, and I need to know how much room there is behind the front seats. Just a rough measurement from behind the (factory) front seats to the inside of the tailgate would be great. Oh, and width between the wheelwells?

I went out and measured my 62 CJ5 for you. It is about 38 inches behind the factory front seats to the inside edge of the closed tailgate ....and 36 inches between the wheel wells. The front seats slant back so depending on how high the object is you might force fit 40-42 inches of length.

    Does that help?
