I think most people know I have to post from a " mobile device" I am having a hard time using the search engine here to see if anyone has swapped any year cj5 tub onto a cj7 frame and kept the frame its full length.

Anyone have any pics of such a Jeep?

I'm sure some won't like the idea and that's understandable. I have a chance to get a pristine running 360, t18 44 s frame and since my jeep is already cut I'm thinking of swapping it under the jeep.

The cj7 chassis is so cheap it would be very hard to pass it up.

I am sure there's plenty of opinions but I am looking fo
    Mainly for pics. :)

Sorry, no pictures yet. I wanted a little more legroom in our DJ5, so I spliced 5 inches into the frame between the front floor body mounts. This will keep the sexy door opening, just a little wider (more Marlyn Monroe than Marlyn Manson). Think if you did the full 10 inches in the door, it would look odd(more odd). Maybe a combination of intermediate front fenders, some in the door and some behind like a 6 would yield the best looking combination. Much more work than all in the same spot.

My thinking is of the stock 5 body mounted in the correct position forward but with the extra 10" sticking out of the back. I want to keep the tub the same length as stock. It's a 1973 BTW.

I know I would have to keep my comp cut In the rear wheel well for clearance.

I have a intermediate body that the PO did the same thing by adding the needed lenght at the door opening. I even have the soft top that he had custom cut and resewn for the added length.

Wouldn't that look like a CJ8 that was missing the bed?
You might try what I did, print some pictures and cut them out and overlay what you have, over what you want. Sort of Kindergarden Photo Shop, or use real Photo Shop if you have it.
