Jeep nostalgia - old photos

    I really hope I'm not being obnoxious and posting a thread that already exists somewhere. I've looked, and I can't find anything like it though, but I can be pretty helpless at this forum stuff!:rofl:

    How about a historical photos thread? A thread to go to just to ogle old jeeps? I was posting on my blog a few days ago about old jeeps and I ran across this picture from December 1946 from the LIFE Archives. All it says is "Jeep King - Wally Cohn," with a photographer's name, Walter Sanders.

    It's the chromiest, blingiest old jeep I've ever seen before in my limited exposure to older Jeeps!

    Does anyone else have old jeep photos to look longingly at?

    *Edit: Some of you may have already known this, but after a little digging it looks like Wally Cohn was famous for modifying Jeeps in occupation-era-post-World-War-II Germany to give them a more "refined" image. This Jeep he merged the body of a 1930s Opel Olympia with a Willys MB grille, chassis and drivetrain. So, I suppose this isn't any sort of stock jeep after all, so it probably doesn't belong here. But maybe somebody else has better photos of old stock jeeps?
