Oh my word! Does anybody know where I can get parts to rebuild or repair a prestolite generator? I can only seem to find whole generator's or bushing and bolt kits. Thank you.

If you have a auto electric repair shop around, they may have some old parts laying around. You can place an ad in our classified section.

It only takes a quick flash to polarize a generator. Since the pole shoes inside the generators (all) is made of soft iron, they loose the magnetism after sitting a while. I would polarize it the same as a delco first (spark the "A" armature) and try it. If that didn't work then flash the field "F" terminal next. Don't hold the hot wire on it but just rake the wire across it. You won't burn it up unless you hold the wire on the terminal. Sorry but I just can't remember if the prestolite is a or b circuit. If this doesn't make it work, your units may be defective. Be sure to check the regulator ground to generator.
