This part is listed for 41-64 MB, GPW CJ-2A, 3A, 3B, M38 but not for the M38A1 or the CJ5.

Does any one know if it can be used to replace the one used in the CJ5?
Some wonderful PO done torched the one in my '60 out and I would kinda like to replace it. Or to even know if it is a necessary part.:?:hurrican:

Not required - I pulled mine when I put a rear tank inside the frame there. If you going to hook up a trailer, just make sure it's attached right if you remove the V member.

I have a 2" box tube welded to the bottom of the bumper/crossmember which I may reinforce with square ubolts before I go towing any where except my yard. My pickup won't fit in my back yard through the gate but the Willys will. Can even back the trailer around to where I need it.
