    Very cool. I saved the images. It's neat to look at what others thought about the 74 when it was actually new. (my rebuild is a 74)

    I was just starting third grade when this magazine came out.

    My uncle had just bought a Ford Pinto cause he could't afford a Jeep

    Gas was up to 55 and 60 cents per gallon... R)

    (That is a considerable jump... in 1972 I was buying gas at 33 cents per gallon)

    Did you all notice the tire pressures used?

    My dad taught me to always run the tire pressures at 32 psi.
    And F78's are bias ply tires.
    I still do my tires at 32 psi. Even on the GoldWing which calls for 28 psi on the front, and 32 on the rear if you don't weigh over 200lbs.

    i did. and i run mine at 14 front/11 rear (bias ply) for the street. ;)
