The Army is sending me to Alaska again. I was wondering if you all wouldn’t mind giving me your opinion on the value of my Jeep. Its located in Ga and it’s tagged and drivable. I use it back and forth from work (about 15-20 miles daily). Looking on CL I've seen a lot worse in the 2-3k range. There’s pictures and basic info for your consideration.
    1974
    258 I6 (points ignition)
    T-14 or T-15 3 spd w/ D20 T-case
    D30 front/D44 rear- 3.73 geared
Warn hubs / American Racing rims, 31” tires
    Manual steering/brakes
New wiring , front pads & wheel cylinders
Bikini top , Soft top w/ 2 frames (not installed. Not sure which frame to use).
1 piece soft doors/ 2 piece soft doors
All original seats and brackets (replacement front highbacks)

    Thanks for your input,

This is a replacement tub. Original tub was swiss cheese. This tub has been repaired. The repairs aren't pretty and mostly hidden by the rocker covers, but they are solid.

Dan, Thanks for the service to the country. I would not mind Alaska for a short while.

Were it me, I'd keep it and ship it up there. I'd find a hardtop and get the heater working real, real good.

I'd start out at $4500 or so and be willing to come down.

    But either way, good luck.

I've already done some time in alaska. Unfortunately it would probably cost more to get it up there (either towing equipment or shipping) than it is worth. Not to mention the emissions requirements and shipping prices for parts and such. I do have the stock heater, but being in Ga, i have no need for it so it isnt installed.

In my area that rig would bring $3K; I'd have a really hard time getting $4K for it around here.

It'd be hard to get $2500 out of that Jeep in this area, IMHO.

Have you thought about storing til you got back??
Pull the battery, fresh fluids, a few bottles of that fuel conditioner and a storage place for like $100 per month.
(hell, if I owned a storage place, and a guy told me he was "going green", I GIVE him a storage place).
Or, if you know someone who has a place to keep it out of the weather, or build a cheap "Jeep box" in your yard, (that's what I did for my bikes. I built a "Bike Box" to store them, make sure you have a wooden floor to keep the moisture away. Worked for 6 years whilist I was serving Uncle Sam in the
    70's)
This way you get back, a new battery and you got a set of wheel, (plus you'll come back with a pocket of "dead presidents" to spend on it)!
Once people find out your on a time limit to sell it, they wait and try to stick it to you,and you'll be runnin low on time, and you'll lose out- been there and got the burn marks to prove it!
    Just a old G.I.'s thoughts
    Joe
Good luck and God keep you safe!:)

Well If I had a another spot in the garage I would let you park it, I am only about 30 min from you. You should be able to get around 3k for it. I have seen worse than your go for more than 3k in this area. Problem is everyone is broke around here.

I really want to keep her. I have an ex army buddy who may be able to store it. I've only had her 9 months and just got her on the road last month. I enjoy working on it wanted it as something my boys (2 and 5) could "help" with. My youngest will climb up in it, buckle up, and "drive". He screams when I take him out. If i were going somewhere CONUS, i would take it. I have already driven out of alaska once, and i am not looking forward to driving back towing a vehicle....in winter. :flag:
