Ok.. so I did my rebuild, things seem ok for the 30 minutes I have on it.. but now its time to drain just water and add antifreeze. My question though is:
Is there a way to tell from looking whether I have a reversed water pump or what I should have. I was unable to see any flow when filling with water and checking things. I let it run for the 20 minutes but it did not over heat, I also have a 165 thermostate in it. So, if anyone has any insight on how I can be sure I have the right water pump in without removing it. that would be very nice. Gracias.

Several years back, my neighbor (Mike) had over heating problems after replacing his water pump, fought with it for months.
A friend was driving thru town, knew his pump was leaking and decided to change it out where he knew there was plenty of tools and beer.
Mike, in frustration, pulled his pump off at the same time, they brought both pumps over to my house to inspect, why was Mikes not working?
The housings were the same, the impellers were angled opposite.
They must have sold Mike one for a serpentine belt engine rather than one for a V belt set up.
Or, somebody just put the wrong impeller on it/mislabeled it?
So, after a long story, no, you can't tell without pulling it off and comparing it to your original.

Well that would be a total drag if that is the case. I don't seem to be over heating yet, but then again I only have 30 minutes on the motor. I guess I will find out hopefully today if I can find the oil i need for my tranny and gear box.. Mexico doesnt have crap for cars here, they through in what ever they can find. Anyway, thanks for the response. Its what I figured. Hope its the right one in there.
