So I rebuilt the T150 tranny and now I have an issue. Here is the inside of the tranny.

What is happening is in this postion ONLY which I think is neutral, I can turn the shaft. If i move either syncro hub, either direction it locks the tranny up. If I put the top on and shift, it does the same thing. In neutral with the top on the rear shaft turns when turning the front shaft by hand. Once I put it into ANY gear the tranny locks up and I can not turn the shaft. Any ideas where I may have buggered this up?

Just an update, I tore it apart again and removed the front shaft. When I slide the 1st and reverse syncro back where the gear meshes with the reverse idler gear, this is where it locks up.

Check the springs under the shift dogs. Sounds like one has fallen into the groove and is locking it up.

Thanks for the reply.. could have been that.. I tore it down, and put it back together, all seems fine now.. but not sure what it was.. I did notice the second time around that when I tried turning the shaft again, same thing, gave it a little muscle and i hear a small POP.. and all is smooth and good, maybe even a small burr.. no telling but its fine. gracias.

any chance you could describe with a little more detail how you fixed that? My T176 just did this too me with the exact symptoms you describe.

I disassembled the whole thing. Put it back together. When I tried to turn it it would not turn, front or rear shaft. Put it into neutral then slide only rear syncro back to engage the low gear, and gave it a good turn with a pair of chanel locks. It gave a little pop and walla… Not a pop like something broke cause really I’ll bet it was only 5 pounds with the wrench, just easier to grab then by hand.. Just a little um.. nudge .

sorry, my bet was it was the springs, cause it actually kinda felt like the detents were holding it. Not the feel of a gear holding it.
