I took the hood and fenders off my 73 cj5 today. Once I was done I went to move it and it would not start. The head lights work. I was able to roll start it, but the ignition will not work. It does not make a sound. My little son was in the jeep playing, he might have pulled a wire or something. Were do I need to start. The wiring needs to be redone anyway, but for now I just need it to crank so I can move it around.

Anyone have an answer, the grounding did not solve the problem.

Start with the basics ... a bump start does not ask for very much from the battery.

Dead battery? Bad battery cables? Bad battery post clamps? Those are common sources of a "no start" condition.

If the battery is good and the cables and connections are sound, solid and clean, then jumper the starter solenoid.
