Hi all Ive been busy and the Jeep has been parked but I'm back in Ca for the winter and would like to finish my wheel change project. I have a pair of hub caps for the back and now need to find something for the front. The problem is the locking hubs, they stick out to far for the stockers to work and I'm not willing to cut the centers out of them. I wonder if anyone has ever cut a set of baby moons out with any success? Any thoughts are welcome. I wonder what Jeep did back in the 70's to remedy this problem?

There were baby moons with holes in the center.

I had at full set at one point - enough for the trailer and Jeep, but didn't like the way they looked.

Dale Bruns has them on his Tux 6 now:

those look like moons with trim rings

I have a new pair that the centers have been cut out of, and trim moulding applied around the openings
I will post pics of what I have in the next day or two

Jim has a lot of stuff - send him a PM. I just bought a pair like you describe from him. Haven't arrived yet, but I already have one dinged-up one. The item for the 6-lug wheels is supposedly different from that for the 5-lug, and one won't fit the other. If you can find a full set of solid ones, you can cut the center out of the pair for the front. Seems a shame though - the hole on the factory cap has a nice rolled edge. I have enough RWB caps to do that, but I'd rather spend a little more and save the emotional stress. Might be the way to go with aftermarket caps though.

here's a pic of the 2 going to Tim
note the raised lip around the hub opening
these are for 6 lug or FSJ wheels
    will post other pic later
the others with the centers cut out do not have this lip
would anything like those pictured work for you Mike?

Mike, here are pics of what I have
the group of 4 have had the centers cut out, then trim moulding applied around the sharp circle edge
the other pair are factory cut; they have a small crown or raised portion around the center lip; don't know if this pair will work with your wheels
    pm if interested
