I just did a soa yj spring conversion on my saginaw equipped cj5 and would really like to put heimed steering under it. Getting a drag link to the top of my steering arm looks like it will be impossible without putting a ridiculous bend in it. Does anybody have pics or a description of how someone has done this without going high steer? Any pics or description of how people are connecting a heim to a swedge tube (factory style but with heims)?

After searching a ton of sights and talking to lots of buddys it looks like i have two options here...Either suck it up and go high steer with a dana 44 or build a T style link. I have a great pic but the site wont let me post it. I was afraid of losing steering feel due to the rocking in the link but if you off set the mount for the drag link heim you can minimize it. I know its weird to answer my own question because im probably wrong (I usually am) but I had to post it if anyone searched it.

When i did spring over with the waggy axles, i just used the stock waggy drag link setup. And used a drop pitman arm. It worked fine for me. The steering rods didnt contact the springs at all. It wasnt high steer and out of the way but it worked. I did have to get the link from pitman arm to the long drag link shortened and rethreaded. But if i was going to do it again i would just get a weldeable bung and make my own pitman arm link. I like using tie rods ends just because i can go to the store and get them easier than getting heims.
