Buick 231 Main bearing caps fitment

Hello again! New problem, new question. I took out my crank-shaft, and when I put the bearing caps back in they dont seem to fit. They seem too wide to fit on the bearing bed. I now have 2 of these engines and its the same on both. Schould I just tighten them down and force them in place, or is there some technique that I dont know about? Hope anyone understand what I meen, despite my bad english. Here's a pic:

 

I figured this one out, I just tapped them light with a nylon-hammer and they went right in place.
