I'm confused are my brakes on my Tuxedo Park CJ6 9" or 10"? Things I have seen 10" brakes started in 1965 but some Tuxedo Park info states that they had 10" brakes. Any help? Can I measure them before taking them off so I can order new drums without hading them open to the weather before the new parts come? How would I figure what I have? Best place for brake parts?
    Thanks

the measurement is taken inside of drum, edge to edge. Think you could measure from the outside and guesstimate . I have some 9" drums in the garage so if you post the outside measurement I could compare it with them if you'd like

Ten inch brakes should have a slot in the bottom of the backing plate to adjust the brakes with. Nine inch brakes do not have a slot but will have their adjusters half way up on both sides of the backing plate. They look like long nuts.

Thanks for the input. I measured the outside of the drum and it measures 33" for the main part or 36" along the "shoulder" (the back lip of the drum). I also looked and it does have a slot at the bottom of the backing plate. So I'm guessing they are 10" brakes (assuming C=pi * D thus D = about 10.5" and since its on the outside the extra .5" would be the thickness of the drum). Does this seem correct.
    Thanks:)
