I need some help again guys.
I ordered a new ring-gear for my 232, but it fits a bit too easily to my liking. It is not loose, but I can push it in place easily without applying any heat.
The tooth count are both the same.

Do you guys think a bearing mount kind of loctite will work?

    Thanks,
    Okkie

Should be fine. Just use lock tight on the bolts when you install them.

    Thanks.
Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing.
The ring-gear just pushes over the flywheel.I want to use loctite between the ring-gear and the flywheel to "bond" the two pieces?

I would think that any kind of glue, whether it's lock-tite red/blue whatever, is going to fail pretty quickly. I've read that the ring gear is usually only installable after heating and expanding it...if it's loose when cold, I wouldn't take chances.

I think that HudsonHawk is thinking of a differential (axle) ring gear.

Yes, as I understand it, the flywheel ring gear should be an interference fit.

Sorry, yes I thought you were talking about the axle not the fly wheel.

As the other'ss have stated that should be an interference fit.

Thanks, I should have been more clear hudsonhawk.
In the end I used a punch and punched a few marks on the seating surface of the flywheel, and used a high strength loctite 50Nm break away(hope that's enough) on the ring gear. Parts realy take some time to get here, so ordering a new one is not an option, and even then I might have the same problem.
I know this is not the way to do things, but at the moment I don't have much choice!

The motor is in, and I'm busy with all the niggles before its time to swing the starter!

    Thanks again,
    Okkie.

Do you have a machine shop that would be able to "knurl" the outside of the flywheel?

Yes, that would be my next step if this doesn't work.
    Thanks for all the advice!
Tomorrow evening if the weather allows, I'm going to wake up neighbours!

I would put four spot welds around ring gear and flywheel. they spot welds the flywheel on auto trans.
