My dad made the suggestion to do this.

The Bulb sticks out about 1/2". What am I to do? We had to drill the hole out a bigger for the bigger bulb.

The back of the light socket. My dad I did not like this because light might bleed back into the engine compartment.

This was our solution. I cut out eight shims from 1/8" aluminum (four per side).

Here are all of them installed. I bet someone that has machining skills could make a shim from a piece of aluminum rod that would match up better to the outside of the bezel than mine. It goes bezel, lens, foam gasket, shims. It doesn't look all that bad either.
