upgrade from a Carter to Motorcraft 2100?

    I have a 1974 CJ5, with a 258 that has a 1 barrel Carter on it. I want to install a Motorcraft 2100. Is there any sort of 1 barrel to 2 barrel adapter for this application or do I need to change the manifold?

    I think you can use the newer style 2 barrel intake from the 80s

    Either will work, but I'm going with the new manifold when I do mine in order to accommodate adding a power steering pump as well.

    The name and model of the adapter is on here, just do a search and I'm sure you'll find what your looking for.

    I wouldn't bother with the 2V if you don't also switch to the 2V manifold. Most of the performance gains will be canceled out by the restrictive manifold. I suggest that you fix the YF and run it ... YFs are good carburetors, when in good condition. Any carburetor will be troublesome if it's not in good condition, so don't jump to any conclusions about your carburetor.
