back up lights question

    anyone know how the back up light system works on my 67 jeepster. i have the v6 with the three speed trans. is there supposed to be a switch mounted on the tranny? how does it get power to the back up light bulbs above the tail lights? thanks.

    There's two ways, depending on which shifter you have. The most common, the non console type or cane shifter has a switch on the transmission, if I remember correctly it's on top of the tranny on the shifter housing. If you had a console shift it's attached to the shifter. It's just a simple on/off type switch, you should be able to see the wiring harness going down to the tranny on the passenger side.
