M100 tailgate mod

    Looking for pictures and advice on a tailgate modification for my M100 trailer. Plan to preserve military look as it is mated to a 1958 US Navy CJ5. I would like to reinforce the sides and use the existing panel as the gate.

    I would start by googling some images of the civilian Bantam trailer. You can get an idea of how they braced the tub towards the outside and mounted the taillights. Then plan a good way to brace your rear panel with angle and strap. I would lean towards angle. I have an M416 that has been cut and they tried to brace it with strap, but it failed in several spots for whatever reason.
