Ok, Help needed, please. Haven't been here in a while, but decided to have the clutch in my jeep replaced. Mech ordered 81/2 " kit, was too small, so I ordered 91/4 " kit from vintage jeeps. it came with a 91/4" plate, and a 81/2 " disk". I was told this would 'work ok', so told him to go ahead. once installed, it grinds when he puts it in gear and tries to let the clutch pedal out. He has adjusted it every way he can and still grinds. Anyone have any ideas? Making me crazy!!
    Thanks for any advice

The 8-1/2" disk will work ok with the 9-1/4" p/plate. As said, there is something wrong. The disk is not releasing. Did you try to start it in gear and see if it will run with clutch in and trans in gear and foot on the brake?

So as stated you are able to put it in gear and it grinds when clutch is released, or does it grind when trying to put it n gear? Are your shifters in proper position? It seems that if it is grinding as you let the clutch out there might be another issue.

Thank you for your responses. I will talk to my mech today and ask more questions. I understand it to be grinding when he lets the pedal out.

It is home and seems to be fixed. The mech talked to the supplier and they decided it needed different parts then were sent. When I got the box, it said from a different company and contained a LOT more pieces...So this (original) company has lost a customer, as I feel it should have been right the first time. Not a 9 1/4 plate and a 81/2 disk, ect.
Thanks for your interest and advice.
