I need to see a pic or find the part to move my alternator over to the other side of the engine. I'm going to want to add power steering later this summer and right now I have my alternator on the driver's side. I'm not sure what to start shopping for to get it over on the passenger side. And then what bracket to get to fit the power steering pump to fit on my engine.

    Any help would be appreciated.

First, I suggest you search for and read other posts on this topic. There are a few different configurations of 258 power steering, and mixing and matching parts from different years has lead to much frustration for some members here.

If you can find a 258 donor with power steering, I suggest you take everything off the front of the donor engine and move it to your engine - pulleys, belts, brackets, water pump, timing cover, accessories. The alternative is to find a 1974 258 CJ with power steering and pick the parts you need off that donor ... assuming there's no mid-year change. Somehow I think that '74 and earlier 258s have both the PS pump and alternator on the passenger side ... I can look in my book later.

This is a popular upgrade, and owner's assumptions that they can add a bracket or change a pulley and have everything fit has caused a lot of cursing and heartburn here and on other boards.

wish you would have posted this sooner. They guy who bought my 258 is going to use it for stroker parts. He may be willing to part with all the stuff you need to go PS.

Go to lsjc.org and PM stickerjuniorxj. He is in Denton, TX. I have no idea how much he would want for those parts though.

FYI: To use the later PS mount on the drivers side you also need the intake from the 80's 258.

I was noticing that last night staring at her. That would also do me good when I put the MC 2100 carb on.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I'm well on my way to figuring this out. I greatly appreciate the help!
