The Red Bomber" is just about ready fer the road.
I have to get a top and a heater, but, it's ready and eager.
Presently, for exhaust I have Hooker fender well headers and a pair of Turbo welded mufflers on it, (it came with a set of shorty cherry bombs-talk about LOUD!!).
The welded mufflers with the headers sounds pretty cool, that old fashion muscle car rumble, but sadly to my old ears still too loud.
I know there isn't much I can do with the short throw from the motor to the ends of the mufflers.
Seeing how the motor is bone stock, (well short of the Holley 2 bbl carb that going on soonth), I don't REALLY need the hookers, (but, they look cool)!:).
I've have found a set of stock manifolds, now to the piping.
What years did CJ5 run a V-6 Odd fire Kaiser Willys engine, (the ser# states a 67-71 motor, but was that a C.J.??)
I thought a "Y" pipe to a muffler and out the back.
I've looked on line and in a few catalogs for the "Y" pipe, but come up short.
I haven't talked to the guys at the auto parts yet, (save myself getting my blood PSI up trying to explain WHAT I've got and what I want).
So, any leads from youse guys whould be helpfull!

No source for a pre-made Y pipe for that application, AFAIK. No longer made. Go to your favorite local muffler shop and have them build an exhaust for you.

Originally the V6s ran the muffler in the back xways between the frame rails. That location is where a lot of us have installed a later gas tank. A good location if you do that is on the driver's side along the rear driveshaft. A crafty muffler guy can get your tubing safe up between the frame rails from the front all the way back, originally it hung down below the xmembers subjecting it to getting crushed by rocks. Here's mine, tucked away, running a Flowmaster Extreme and exiting at the driver's rear corner.
This one is w/ front dump manifold. The second is w/ rear dump.

    super pics!
I thought and thought, then got my beat up creeper and dragged my old arse under the jeep.
Where the drivers side pipe would go is a great spot, the frame member is curved nice there.
    Only problem............
My dual res. master cylinder sticks out a bit, the Advanced Adpt. chain clutch linkage and the newly added drum E brake handle, with the bracket I made for the cable are all in that area, filling it up pretty good.
Looks like I gotta figure out how to quiet it down with the fender well headers.
Prehaps another set of mufflers? (my son loves the sound of the welded turbo mufflers), maybe a OEM mufflers from like my ranger?
    The sound saga continues.
