This old jeep is just full of surprises! I had to replace the heater core this weekend and surprise, surprise.

For any of you guys that are rolling a barn find, you might want to make sure the barn stuff stays in the barn.

Here's a heater fan that blows in gust. lol.

It's smells a bit musty, nutty and ratty all at the same time!

I had some rat trouble in my jeep which sits in the shop a lot and I now have a cup of rat poison in the cupholder. I take it out when my wife and I go to Sonic.

Actually by putting hamsters into the heater fan they will run on it like a treadmill helping to recharge your batteries if the alternator goes out.. :)

The rat habitat in the heater case on my 72 was just like yours when I purchased it , they had even used a dollar bill in the nest and yes that smell is funky.

I keep my cj3a at our deer camp and make sure the rat poison is out after every trip. I put it in the engine compartment, the floor under the jeep and on the floorboard. I also was told to keep the hood propped open(I use a brick). Rats supposedly like a closed space and will not build a nest if the hood is propped open. I haven't had a problem in several years. They used to chew up my spark plug wires and headlamp wires. Kind of a bummer when you get out in the middle of nowhere to go hunting and your jeep won't start because of the rodents.

My old jeep rest in a clean garage these days, but this was her home for several years. I think it was close to 10 years but not really sure.

Rats, mud daubers, snakes, all kinds of critters will try to take up homesteading in your Jeep if it sits. Good argument for driving it more often.
