Im slowly coming to the point where Im looking to get the engine fired and am thinking of going this way..

I have read some posts about timing and adavnce and I wanted to know if the juice is worth the squeez or I should keep the stock distrb?

Any comments from the peanut gallery would be appreciated...

I think that we have totally flogged on that horse 'bout 100 times. Some like, others don't. I am a Chevy guy so of course I run Hei distributors in everything-(I love to see a Ford guys face when he realizes his beloved blue oval is now running on Chevy power) I have used them in many 225s without a single failure or problem.

I put one in my 30 year old 225 and it runs better now than it ever has. From the wreckers into the motor. It was a major improvement.

Major difference in going from points to HEI. I went w/ a DUI distributor. It supposedly has the advance curve optimized. Some others here also add an MSD box. The motor runs so good I don't even use a choke on Pete anymore.

I think the OP is asking more if anyone has any feedback on the Ebay sellers and their HEI units than the pros and cons of using HEI. Am I right?

i figured it was covered.. but couldnt come up with any concrete info on the ones from Ebay...

    And yes..
I guess the better question would be... are the packages from Ebay any better than buying a parts store reman from a 76 whatever odd fire?
