Okay, I'm back.. had to build a garage, finish a divorce etc etc. started the 67 in the fall, had to buy new gas pump but had a brutal time getting the correct one, is it true that the some of the 67 models are really 66s. Everyone I worked with wanted to sell me a unit with a return line like the size of a pin hole but mine only had a gas pickup line and a line going to the fuel filter and carberator.. Is there a reliable web site to check my Seral number to??

    Merry Xmas

wasn't able to locate the numbers there. the serial numbers that I located are 8305 A 225106. I believe that its a 1967 CJ 5 V-6 225. May have been manufactured in late 1966.

I had a simular problem with my iginition switch.
theres a little secret to fixin these. If you take out the whole assemley you will see a small hole in the to p of the casine that holds the tumbler. you need a small punch that will fit in the hole. If you do it right ther is a "button" in the tumbler. if you push it and turn the key to "Acc." the whole tumbler will come out. then you can simpley oil and clean it.

I've had luck with Gemini Auto Sales in Burnaby, they used to have a good selection of NOS & repro parts, this is where we got most of the stuff for Tonka when we first got him.

Getting small stuff from the states isn't a big deal as long as it's shipped USPS instead of UPS ( $40 up handling fees for non-existant duties) but you'll get dinked for GST when you pick up the parcel @ the post office.

Which part of The Dominion are you located in?

From the Belleville Ontario area. Anyone ever heard of Willis Acres north of Orillia, Ontario. There some rumours about the place both good and bad..
Going to need a tub for this thing or can you weld in a new floor?

Heard of them, never ordered anything from them, they seem to be more "military" oriented than civvy + a little on the pricey side :(.

    http://www.willysacres.com/

There's also a name I've had for a while that doesn't show up on the net & I've never bought anthing from them but if they still exist they're "local" (comparatively, that is) to you-

    Niagara Military Parts
    80 Dover
    Welland
    905-732-4122

You may also want to check the CJ3B website,

    http://www.film.queensu.ca/cj3b/

The fellow who runs it is in Kingston, he may have some good resources for you listed.

If the rest of the tub is in good condition than floors are available from a couple of sources, Classic Enterprises is probably the best but they only ship UPS :(. There's also a place in Maine called Jeep Panels Plus that has a good reputation as well. I believe you can get the "standard" OMIX body parts through Gemini but you may want to do a little reaserch on them, some people have had less than enthusiastic reports about the fit & quality. Be warned- shipping body parts across the border by any means is expensive, cost me $800 to get a tub shipped here from Nevada a few years ago & only about $200 of that was to get it *to* the border :(.

If you're interested theres a map showing ECJ5 member locations here-

    http://www.earlycj5.com/map.shtml

As Ontario seems to be a litttle under-represented you might want to add yourself to it :).

    Good luck,

    H.
