    I did my teardown today...
I currently have a bare rotating assembly.
I already a lot of the misc stuff available at local parts stores, but I am having a hard time finding engine specific parts.

I have checked the normal cats with little success..

can anybody point me in the right direction...

TA Performance Parts for some of the harder to find things. Most should be available even from Summit with a phone call.

huh... summit didnt really dawn on me..

Im assuming it might be easier if i treated it as a Buick motor and not a Jeep application?

Summit. Treat it like a Buick engine, not a Jeep engine. What exactly are you looking for?

I really wanted to see availability of various parts..
I have been debating a 4bbl manifold.. I know summit carries..
    valve covers, oil pan...

I was also poking around to see if there are rebuilt complete heads out there..
I saw the ones form TA performance.. not looking to invest that kind of coin.
I could get them done locally, but I do like to price shop.

Unless you need parts like rockers or cranks. NAPA and the normal chain stores can get you virtually any part you need. gaskets and all.
These parts are available at my local NAPA.
water pump, alternator, pistons, rings, belts, points and all electrical parts, cam, all bearings, oil pump kits, all seals, gaskets, lifters, timing sets, carbs. About the only thing they don't have is, crank, rods, wrist pins and oil pan and timing cover and I'm not sure about the timing cover.

Just remember that 225 heads and 231 heads are different and not easily interchangeable. You can get 4bbl manifolds off of ebay for about 50 bucks or so. The ports on manifolds for 225s and 231s are a little different but they work ok. Holley claims theirs will fit both.

'79 is the break year for high port heads and most 4bl intake manifolds are made for the high port head.
The mainifold will fit but IIRC you'll need a '79 (or newer) intake gasket. The ports will have a horrible miss match, but does work.
