yeah, planning on running the bop th350 so it'll bolt right to my buick 350 motor, and I found the other day that the AA th350 to D18 adapter is 1.85" long, whereas the Novack th350 to D18 adapter is like 3.1" long. Not a big difference, unless you are running a cj5, hehe.

What is the height like on a th350 vs. a t-18? Is it going to be easier to "tummy tuck" my drivetrain with a th350 vs. a t-18?

    Yea, you should.
Length is the major issue with TH transmissions, they’re actually shorter top to bottom and provide better ground clearance than most standards transmissions.

I was trying to come up with one the other day, too. Jeep used the TH400 for both the BOP and AMC pattern. Even if you used a GM 4x4 TH350 and swapped parts, the New Process pattern doesn't do us any good, so you're buying a Novak kit anyway.

If you really want to go crazy, the 700r4 is the same length as a TH400 with a lower first gear than the TH350 and has an overdrive.
If you're going to buy an adapter anyways.

My BIL ran a a 700r4, 18 Tcase, and a 327 chevy in his MB.
The rear driveshaft was really short. Maybe 12"
    He ran 5.38 and 33"
Was a DD, on the freeway, he never had any problems.
he did have trans pan to front driveshaft issue's.
But he was running a d27.
If you outboard the front with wider axle this shouldnt matter.

If we’re talking military GM Diesels I’m pretty sure the CucV, HumV and Blazer all had TH400’s.
