Parking brake cable question

I'm replacing the rear brakes on my '67. I had backing plates for 10" brakes off a (I think) "72, so I'm doing a 10" brake conversion. I want to upgrade my parking brake system to the rear wheels since I now have that option. I also want my parking brake lever between the seats. I've got a good lever already mounted and plumbed.

My question is this. I need to order some cables to fit the 10" brakes, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what will work. I'll probably fabricate an equalizer behind my lever. The cable that came with the rear end that I'm scavenging off of was one piece and way too long. I need two cables that I can tie into the equalizer, and of course since my CJ5 is short the end of my lever is only about a foot ahead of the front of the brakes.

    Any suggestions?

A '72 came with 11" Bendix brakes. Either you don't have 10" brakes or it's not from a '72, or it's from another vehicle like a postal Jeep.

Just a guess on my part from what I've been able to gather. Could be from a DJ. Definitely 10" brakes. The backing plate is 11" so I bought 11" drums and shoes. Didn't fit. Exchanged for 10". Fit perfect.

    Larry,
Your link is very helpful. I looked over the thread completely and think I know how to proceed. I'm going to be very excited to have an operational parking brake.
