Well I started all the body work today. All that went well. Filled holes in the roof where the PO decided to install the worlds worst roof rack. Anyway went to leave and Jeep would not start. I figured out my problem is the fuel pump. My real question is when towing the commando home in neutral going down the road in silence(well not really) the trans / transfer case is making a noise like something is not right(the noise is like something is still rotating) . In gear when running the noise is not there. I wonder if it is the throw out bearing??

The throwout bearing only spins when the engine is running and the clutch is disengaged (in).

I wonder if I need to check some fluids. I have only had this thing for about 3 weeks.

was the transfer case still in gear? because if the t-case is in gear, sh*t will still be turning in it even if the transmission is in neutral.

    :?

If the transmission is in neutral, the transfer case will not turn, otherwise the vehicle would move.

the transfer case is connected to the axles, so unless the transfer case is also in neutral, whenever the jeep moves, crap will be turning in the transfer case, regardless of what gear the transmission may or may not be in. or am i missing the point?

My bad. I was thinking engine running, Jeep not moving. That's why I thought you had it backwards, not me.:D

The noise goes away as soon as I start to let the clutch out.

No I get no noise when it is moving. No noise if I am just sitting in the garage with the clutch out and in neutral. I get the noise if the clutch is in and the trans is in gear(but not every time either). Then as soon as I start to let the clutch out the noise stops.

Does it make noise with the clutch in and the trans in neutral?
Sounds like throwout bearing or pilot bushing.
