Those of you with a rag top CJ, ever run it through the car wash? Any surprises??? A hurricane inside your jeep? I'm thinking maybe some of the rollers will scratch the plastic windows?

    What say you?

Never even considered the idea. Too much risk for damage. Too much satisfaction with a bucket, hose, and two wet kids in the driveway...;)

I would suggest no top, windsheild down, and swimtrunks.

No. Never take it to a carwash. I'd have to bring a bucket to bail out the footwells! Besides, a dirty Jeep is a manly Jeep. Argh argh ARGH!

I never use those places for any of my vehicles. Just asking for damage.

when i was anycar if i dont do it at home i go up to one of those pressure washer places. makes it easy to blow the mud off the underside of the ZJ. the paint is so messed up that we dont care about it geting scratched it would just be one more battle scar.

Never run it through an automatic before. I have taken it to the quarter wash to clean it (no top or doors). Kinda got some funny looks ;)

I've had CJs from 1972 on to present and have NEVER taken a single one to an automatic car wash. Figured it was too much fun to wash it myself...never could understand one to let a machine have that much fun...

Just got my self a cheap pressure washer from Home Depot just for this prupose. What a blast, 'cept I blew all the crud of the bottom and it started leaking. Oh well, still fun.

I don't think that I had been to a carwash till I moved to MA; so, no, never. Neither hard top or soft.

I always went to a pressure wash coin-op place, yanked the doors off and blasted the insides as well as the out. Just remember to take all your tools and such out first!
