    I am putting a 231 odd fire into my 68. Cant seem to make the main crank bearing fit. I was told the large main thrust bearing goes on the second slot, not the rear. Whats up here? The bearings for the 231 and 225 are the same and interchangable.

    crank shaft end play should be between .004-.008". If it is greater than that you have to install new second main (thrust) bearing. According to FSM.
