Looking for some ideas/pics of what people who are doing saginaw swaps are utilizing for a lower bearing when keeping a stock column.

This should be what your looking for, this is for the 72-75, I have made a dozen or so of them and the stock column bushing is not much different.

    Thanks Mike.
Makes me wish I was still working at my old job where I had lathe and mill access. :(

Did you just machine it out of steel and use a bushing inside or is it just all steel?

I made them from a bar of brass and put a Zerk fitting in them.

why is the bushing needed? I assume this is going from a ross column to a saginaw box?
I just put a saginaw power box on my 74, but it had saginaw manula steering, so I assume no bushing was needed.

I just buy the Advance Adapters one. Cut the gear off the steering shaft to length, cut back the column tube to leave enough shaft for U-joint attachment, and tap the bushing on. The A/A shaft is a little on the snug side, so a sanding disc in a 4-1/2 angle grinder works to remove enough material on the shaft for snag-free spinning.

I bought a postal column. Ordered it at http://www.postaljeep.net/ on advice from McRuff. Came complete from horn button to rag joint in like new condition, even a turn signal. Looks stock from the interior side. Haven't installed it yet, hoping to get to it this winter.
