Be sure to plug vacuum line when you set timing. Vacuum should be 0 at 600 r.p.m. and about 25 or so at 2500 r.p.m. Set right your h.e.i. will be right on. Never had to touch mine.

 

ok first off i only have 11.5 volts or a little mor but not a full 12 i have about 13.5 to 14 at alt. can i wire this direct without harming anything or does it need to be switched?
second i found i was one tooth off and could not retard my timing so i moved runs a little bettr and not as much backfire only if i jump on it, my idle is at 650 and when i rev it up slowley no problems, i set the timing at 7 degrees btdc when i run the rpms up it goes farther in retard is this right or is my vaccum not working? it is better though but still not right

dont forget hei requires a mimimum no 12 wire with 12volts
