what do you guys think of stock yj springs on my cj??

would this make it lower than stock??

i was wanting to put some RE yj springs on my cj. but in the meanwhile if i can get a deal on the stock yj springs....i could set up my new mounts and what not while waiting to save money for the RE.

    any comments??

That's what I have on mine right now. The aftermarket shackles I have probably add around 1/2 inch. Total lift height is about 4" give or take. I love my YJ springs. With those and a shackle reversal the ride is amazing and off road ability is better than stock.

I sprung over with 2.5 inch BDS springs and it gave me a total of about 7 inches of lift. Along with a reverse shackle it rides and flexes way better than stock

I have 2.5" YJ lift springs and am probably real close to that over stock. I would say you would be close to stock. I have regular shackle locations and I too love my ride. Better off road and very well behaved at 65 MPH. I used Old Man Emu.

hey i was wondering. how are the stock spring hangers on a yj fastened on to the frame??

i was thinking about going to the junk yard and getting the spring hangers shackles and springs?? is this possible?? are the hangers welded on or bolted or both?? any pictures would be awesome...

    thanks, Matt

YJ springs made mine sit higher. The shackles were relocated to adjust for the reversal and spring width so I don't know if that has anything to do with the additional height I got. We opted not to go with a spring over. I like my center of gravity a little lower than that. The hangers are welded.

Looks right, but call him to be sure. I bolted and welded mine, I used a steel dowel and level to line them up across the frame to weld/bolt them on. Level your jeep on the jack stands too. My jeep sits perfect. I do want to comment as I look at these peices, you may gain some hieght off this bracketry. It seems taller than my stock stuff. I am almost 4" taller than stock. 2.5" from springs 3/4" shackles and probably 1/2" from these parts.
