    Look at this:

    In case you can't make it out, it says 43156 NOV 13 '53

    Is that a speedo serial number a date of production?

    I pulled this out of a 3b. Unsure of the year. The speedo is in perfect condition with no rust, even though it has been stored outside for eons.

    NOV 13 '53 is the date the gauge was made. "43156" is the part #.

    I got 5 speedos, all still have the stampings still visible, no surprise.

    When I replaced the speedo in my 55cj I found "Dec 10 54" stamped inside the original unit.
