What the heck is this for?

    I haven't been able to find anything about this in the Technical section. does anyone know what the heck that circular indentation is for? I'd search the forums, but since I don't know what to call it... :?

    That is the place were the electrical connector goes so one could jump start the battery's. I have one on my M38a1. CJ's don't have it.

    Yep, that's only on the M38A1 military jeeps. It was a 24 volt outlet for serving as an auxiliary power source.

    I guess that makes sense. The PO said that the tub was not original when i bought it. i just figured it was off of a different year CJ. Thanks for the info!!
