Since I put the 33" on my right rear fender is taking a beating. I keep bottoming out and push the fender in behind the wheel. I think I got 2.5" on there now, but not sure. I thought maybe the springs were just worn. I looked at the BDS 2.5" lift but the notes said it was for 31" tires max. Do I go with the 4". Which one, Superlift or Skyjacker? What are you guys with 33" using? What stops should I use?

    Thanks guys

If it's just the rears that are the issue, how about getting/making some longer shackles? It'd be cheaper than an entire lift kit.

Thought about that too. The thing is is that it doesn't sit level, almost like the springs are sagging. Does that happen? Do springs wear out?

They do and most of us are plagued with leaning jeep syndrome. Do a search for more info. :D

I've heard good things about the 4wd hardware lift www.4wd.com

Do a couple of measurements to be sure. If there appears to be a lean, first get some data. First measure a corner of the lower right fender to the ground, and compare to the left side. What's the difference between the two?
Now to find out where the diffo is: measure left axle side to the ground, and compare w/ right. Inflate tires to equal 'em up. Then measure top of axle on left up to the body and compare to the same on the right. Any perceived "lean" will be quantified in inches by this method.

Anecdotally, notice if one side looks like the spring is arched vs. straight (saggy) on opposing sides. I got my replacement leafs from 4WD. But I only replaced the affected left saggy side, and it fixed the "Detroit Lean".

I've got 33's, and have longer shackles in front/back (might have come w/ Skyjacker or Rancho lift kit...how to tell?). Plus a 2" body lift. No fender eat. :p

The key to stopping fender munching is appropriate length bumpstops.

I run a sagging Skyjacker 2.5" lift, with rear shackles 1 1/4" longer than stock. Body lift about 1.5" (this helps too)
Tires are 33x12.50 MTs on 15x10 wheels , 4" backspace.
I installed rancho bumpstops 2" taller than stock, above the axle at all 4 corners (these fit in the stock location)
No fender munching. The only rubbing I get is the tire on the inside of the wheelhouse when stuffed, and we all get that.

So guys would I be better off just doing a 4" suspension than a 2.5" suspension and 1.5" body. I'd rather not mess with a body lift unless there's an advantage to it that I'm not understanding, besides the price of coarse.

I will definetely look at new bumpstops.

I do have 15x10,but not sure on the backspace.

    Thanks guys for the info.

I installed a SUperlift and it was very firm. I had to remove the 6th spring for a softer ride.

4'' inch lift = higher center of gravity. Body lift just brings sheetmetal up not drivetrain and less likely to affect handling. Just my .002 worth.

I'm running 2.5" Superlift springs with 31" tires. They were stiff when new, but over time they don't seem so bad. I don't know if they've softened any or if I just got used to them. Next time I think I'm going to go with BDS.

I didnt want to deal with stiff springs, So i did a spring over lift and put it the way it should have been from the factory. I have tons of clearance and no problems with rubbing. Looks great, and no real low hanging spring shackles to hang up on.
