I just acquired an original Jeep Hardtop for my '74 CJ5 (very excited about it!). BUT, as projects go, it is missing a few things. The most important are the door brackets (four) that attach to the body. Picture is below... The peg is approx 1.5" long and 3/8" in diameter. I need four and anticipate drilling the holes, so bolt pattern is not a concern.

I was wondering if you guys knew of a place to find these? I've tried Midwest Willys (no luck) and haven't heard back from Vintage Jeep yet.

Maybe I'll have to have someone fab them up for me... or try it myself.

I also need the T-handle for the back hatch... but its not as urgent.

More pictures when I get the hardtop set on the 'Tomato.

    Thanks in advance!

Take a look on ebay under jeep parts. Look for Bobs 4x4 ebay store. Thought I saw some on there last night. Good Luck.

You can get the back hatcht-handle at the hardware store in the garage door section.

here are sam pictures of the hinges, also do you have the filler strip that goes on the side of the windshild.
You can see it in the picture, this is what the door closes onto.

    Andrew,

Thanks a ton for the pictures. Measurements would be very helpful, especially if I end up at my father-in-laws trying to fab them out. I had no idea that there was a filler strip also. Can I get a front picture of that as well?

Thanks! Very, very helpful. Off to post a WTB.

Looks like I am not the only one in this boat, picked up a half hardtop over the weekend and am looking for the windshield hinges also...

More good info! That other thread refers to the top brand as Meyers. Mine has "Jeep" stickers on the interior and exterior... but was it manufactured by Meyers?

olcj - Let's keep an eye out! Who knows... maybe they'll show up in bunches. :D

    Thanks again!

Interesting! Got to love all the back history on this stuff. And, I'm glad I found people who do!

    MountainCleric: another link for you

    http://www.film.queensu.ca/cj3b/Hardtops/Meyer.html

They are definitely Meyers cabs, I have that Jeep sticker on the inside of mine also. I guess I'm in a little better shape than you in that I have the lower brackets for the doors, just lacking the upper. If nothing else we might be able to borrow some off someone's project and fab up a couple of sets, still searching in the meantime...;)

That's a great page. Good info.

I sent you one option by PM. It's a commercial outfit and are making a profit off it, so you can decide accordingly. It might be cheaper to fab at that point!

I'll keep looking as well. We need to stumble upon a good jeep graveyard!

Yeah... they think they have golden little buggers. The guy on the phone even told me that I'd probably consider fabricating them after hearing the prices. He was certainly right!

Alright, fingers crossed on this one fellas. I have a guy calling me back tomorrow after he double-checks a few pictures. This may be a done deal...

I'll try to get a list of resources I used to scrap these up! No small feat to find these buggers.

Found! Actually came up with two sets... the other needs a little fab work, but is still very serviceable.
