Got the front all figured out - thanks to everyone on the site.

On the rear, I want to use the same calipers and rotors as the front and use a D25/27 spindle for a full floater conversion ... can I go with a simpler and cheaper option on the caliper brackets? Like one of these:

and if so, which one is best?

Or do I have to stay with the same brackets as the front?

If I have to stay the same as the front, what's the cheapest way to get NEW brackets? They seem awful expensive - this is the cheapest I've found so far:

(I travel a lot and like to spend my time at home working on the Jeep rather than poking around junk yards)

Check with these folks too (posted in another brake thread)

R & P - Nick knows them - I have bought from them and they are real good.

Jeep Guy - Patrick Recommended them.

'72-76 Chev/GMC 1/2-3/4 ton 4x4 brackets. They are completely round so they protect the inside of the rotor and have same bolt pattern as your axle housing. They work for the front 25 and the rear 44. Just bolt them on in place of factory backing plates and bolt on the calipers. They are heavy though. http://www.mcguill.com/Bronco/discswap.htm has a pic of them and they are what I used. Click on it and scroll about 1/2 way down to see the pic of the backing plates. I didn't read that article it just has the pic for you.

I have the same Chevy caliper brackets as Dave T. Found them in the bone yard for $25 ea. Use the calipers from the same vehicle and use rotors from 77-78 Jeep CJ. (1.25 thick). Mount the rotors on the back side of the hub. Looks and works just like factory.

So I guess you're saying I have to go to the junkyard.

Found a cheaper place for the brackets - $85/pair + shipping from The Jeep Guy.

May call a couple of junkyards to see if they can ship, but after that, may just buy 4 of these instead of going to the junkyard.

mid seventies fullsize jeeps used the same brackets and calipers as the chevy's. That's where I got mine for my rear.
