Axle Tag

    Have a tag on my cj3a rear axle.

    it says W 43/8 (the 43 is overtop of the 8, with a line in between fraction style)

    Anyone know what this means? Axle ratio code?

    43/8 = 5.38 ratio

    well........5.375 if you're one of those types

    Thanks. I was guessing that but who knows. I know it didnt mean there was a pwoer lock in it, since i didnt see one when i opened it up :(

    Sometimes those tags will have both the teeth counts and the ratio. Must have figured some of us are mathematicly challanged.
