Protecting Bare Sheet Metal

    I'm taking my trailer in for media blasting. What should I use to protect the bare sheet metal while I am performing repairs? I remember reading somewhere that primer will not keep sheet metal from rusting. Since I'm a weekend warrior, it could take several months to complete the repairs.

    etching primer will suit, keep it inside, might want to primer/sealer on top of the etching. but you might have problems welding. if no welding just primer/seal the whole thing.
