Do you have to move the front cross member forward when you install a V6 Oddfire in a Willys CJ? I've heard both ways. My frame still has the round cross member with the bell crank mount on it. If you do have to move it, how far forward do you go? Thanks Todd

You do not have to move it. The V6 is shorter than the 4 cyl it's replacing. I replace mine when I do a Saginaw conversion due to how I like to run the shafts.

Do you put the new cross member in the same place when you do the Saginaw conversion? Power steering is also in my plans.... Thanks Todd

Roughly, the replacement is 2X2 stacked so it is not as deep as the old cross member. I have pics of how I do the saginaw HERE if you want to see it. Also look under the builds/fab stuff here for alot of info.

You don't have to mess with the crossmember it just depends on how you setup your steering. When I did my 3A I didn't mess with the front cross member. U joints make the installation much easier.

You can even put a V8 in and retain the stock crossmember. I did make a new dropped version for my 3B to get a bigger radiator installed, but it is still in the same location.
