:v6:Steering is a nightmare. I don't know if my CJ was raised by a PO or not. Don't know how many leafs should be in my springs. I do know the front axle is from a 73 and I don't see any shims.

Looks like a factory spring pack to me.

You'd likely be better off in the "Early CJ-5" ratehr than "Intermediate" forum. There will be more feedback there about your configuration. The Dana 30 is a popular upgrade, but I expect it needs caster shims.

That's not a way to be wildly popular around here. Send a message to a moderator and it'll get moved. :)

I was able to do the swap without haveing castor shims on the front, but I am running with Holbrook Springs. What do your shackles look like (real long or stock)? I have found them to be as much of the issue as anything else.

bkd, thanks for moving this post for me. The shackles are 7 1/4 " long with the springs hanging at 5 1/2" center of bushing to center of bushing. There is one more hole which would put it at 4" center to center.
Sparky, there were no mods on at the time of my last post or I would have asked. I'm not trying to irritate anyone. I just didn't see someone to ask.
