My speedometer is working fine as far as MPH goes (a little jumpy under 20 but smooths out after that) the problem is the mileage. It only registers about 1 mile for every 100 miles driven. After driving for a month the jeep only has 19 miles on it. It is a brand new speedometer from Krages any simple solutions or is it a bad speedometer?

I've heard that if the cable insert is too long it can cause binding in the speedo head. I'd try and loosen the cable nut a few turns on the backside of the speedo head and see if that helps.

The trip (odometer) meter part of the speedometer is a worm gear coupled to the drive gear which is coupled to the speedo core. These are all direct coupled. Only the speed cup is separate and is driven by magnetic induction. I would say you have a defective speedometer. Sure would tell them about it.
