My '75 cj-5 w/258, sits for a few weeks (sometimes longer) between starts,, When it is started, I get blue oil smoke from the exhaust, which goes away after a minute or two. If it is started again after a few hours, no smoke. Do you think this just oil seeping by the guides while it sits unused, untill the engine heats up? It's got plenty of power, and doesn't missfire at all.

Sounds like the correct diagnosis to me.

I would check a couple of things. First,, make sure your PCV system is open and the PCV valve is clean. Second, I'd look under the valve cover to see if oil is pooling in there. I believe this engine has rubber cup-style valve stem seals. Using the proper technique, these can be replaced without removing the head.
