man am i confused, does the m38a1 use the same springs as a cj5 just heavier? what are the differences if any? its time to replace the rear springs on my a1 and i am confused as what i need to buy, it seems there is alot of different bushings and such:rofl: what i would like to get would retain the stock heigth with a better ride and more flex. but i want to get it right the first time as i will have to down the jeep. HELP!!!!! me please. part #'s would be a big help. from what i gather they have the same length and such if that is the case i just need to figure out what bushing i need. also it has the greaseable shackles on one end if that helps out

I don't know what condition the bushings you have are in. If you're replacing the springs, I'd replace all the bushings, if it were me. They're all the same, both ends of the spring, the shackles, front and rear.

I've had a couple a1s that had a 5/8 bolt for the fixed hanger end---don't know if that just something that people used to swap when bushings wore out???
