I'm replacing my T86 with a T14. I have a new mount, but the adapter plate that goes from the mount to the transmission is different, the T14 bolts are space apart wider. Anyone know where I can get the correct adapter or have a pic of what it looks like?

Seems like I just omitted the plate. I might have moved the crossmember too...Can't recall..

how did you attach the mount to the transmission without the plate? My mount holes don't line up with the transmission holes, which is why I need the plate/adapter. I've read it isn't necessary to trim the driveshaft because the slip more than makes up for the 5/8", not true?

Yup i had trouble with the mount also. I cant recall exactly what i did but i think i just ended up drilling new holes in the mount and made it work but i also moved the whole crossmember back to wherever it ended up and also the clutch bellcrank thingey so maby it wasnt the best way about it. I didnt modify the driveshafts anything drastic i may have cut a half inch or so off the splines on the rear just incase.

Funny you mention the clutch, I ran into that today. The pivot ball on the T14 is about 1-1.5" back from the ball on the T86. I moved the frame pivot ball back to the next set of frame holes and it seems good, but now the clutch cable (between the bell crank and fork) is too short. Not too big a deal, I can get the longer one. The part that's really bothering me is the rod that goes from the pedal to the bell crank. It is now too short, but I can't find anything longer, do I simply loosen the bolt that attaches the clutch pedal to the pivot shaft and rotate it forward a bit?

Ultimately I made a linkage with baby heim joints, but before that I just bend a new linkage out of 5/16" round stock. I didn't mod my driveshafts because there was enough travel in the slip yokes. I don't remember exactly what I did with the tran.s mount because I've since swapped in T18.

How do you connect the end of that to the clutch fork where the ball on the end of the cable sits?

So you did need a longer rod, should be easy to make. I just looked at it real quick last night and it appeared the clutch pedal could be pivoted on the shaft to sdjust the travel and allow for the difference in placement thhe T14 creates.

If anyone has a stock T14 setup, and a few minutes I'd appreciate it if you could measure your cable and linkage rod.

Just measure from the pedal arm hole to the bell crank hole after you get the tranny in there.

They came with the Jeep. I'm friends with the PO, who is an old gearhead and he told me somenthing once about how they used to cut, offset, and reweld wheels. I have new deep dish chrome wheels I'll be replacing them with shortly, send me a PM and maybe we can work out a deal.

I have a 67 Dauntless and I am trying to replace the T-86 with a T-14, but the donor Jeep had a D-20 versus a D-18 and the spline for the transfer case is different. If i can find a T-14 married to a D-18 that was behind a Dauntless, will that be a direct swap?

I have a Dauntless in my 67 and I am trying to swap my T-86 out for a T-14, but the donor Jeep has a D-20 transfer case and the spline is not the same as the D-18. If i can find a T-14 married with a D-18 will this be a direct swap or will it have to come from behind a Dauntless?
