any one done a drop pedal setup out of something like a s-10?
reason im asking is the brakes in my 3b are gone and im thinking if i have to rebuild the entire system, then why not convert it to 20th century braking system?
    all info is appreciated.
P.S. right now i have stock mc single resivior w/ 11" drum brakes.
pedal goes to the floor when pressed.
if you pump the brakes they work ok, but it wants to pull to the right.
i've cleaned the drums checked the mc fluid and adjusted the shoes.
    still all bad. thanxs guys.

Elliot on IFSJA sells an Astro van hydroboost kit ... some info here http://www.ifsja.org/forums/vb/showthread.php?t=81750

I have one of his hydroboosts for my CJ-6 but I have not installed it yet. Of course, I already have the suspended pedals.

I think I asked this before - what's in front of the stock MC when under the floor in a CJ? The hydroboost is long but it's not very big around.

    thats a great thread.
i guess i would be looking to take a stock brake system out of a s-10 and put it into the B.
so that would be a vacuum brake booser.
    any body do that?
i like the hydro setup, just trying to use what i have on hand, no money.R)

mine works great! I used shortened pedals from a mid 60s chevy pick up{just some junk I had ].The booster came from ebay. the mount is just a peice of of flat 1/4 strap with 2 mounting bolts and 1 for the booster. I used a wilwood proporcining valve in the rear line.
I run 11X2 drums/ford f100 disks on a 42 mb. It stops really nice and straight with good feel. I was suprized at how smooth it works! not at all grabby or touchy.

I did had to shorten the push rod in the booster to use a newer master cylinder. It just pops out

    thanks.
i replaced the old master cylinder with a rebuilt one.
worked out well, the pedal stopped sinking to the floor.
but it still pulls to the right, gonna replace the shoes next.
    see how she pulls then.
thanks guys for all the info.

I have been using the entire setup out of late 80s-early 90s Jeep Cheerokees. If you have a pull-a-part locally, you can get the pedals-with brake light switch- the booster, master cylinder, and if you have front disks the proportion valve is already right there. Everything in one package with no modifications or jury rigging needed. All for less then $100 bucks with parts readily available at every parts house in the country. Just one more application of the KISS principle.
