Ok, I just recently purchased a 1976 Mahindra CJ-3B and I'm going to start rebuilding it. The electical system is pretty much gone, so I'm gonna start with rewiring that. Other than that, where should I start? I'd like to upgrade the front brakes to disc. What are my options? I saw an article on the JP website on how to do this, but it doesn't have part numbers. For the record, I don't have access to a decent junkyard. Part numbers for ordering from autozone would be very helpful. Also, does anybody know where I can order a blank dash panel? Sorry if these might be silly questions, but again, I totally new to this. Thanks.

That JP article used to have the parts list for the disc conversion. Here's the list from their article: What you need:
    * Calipers from a '71-'78 Chevy 1/2-ton or light-duty 3/4-ton 4x4 with a Dana 44* Caliper mounting brackets from a '73-'91 1/2-ton Chevy 4x4* Rotors from a '77-'78 CJ. These rotors are 1 1/8-inch thick* Ten longer wheel studs (we used Dorman PN 610106)* Chevy 1/2-ton brake lines (Pro Comp PN 7220)* A grinder* Standard handtools* Brake fluid, new hard brake line, banjo bolts, and a bleeder kit.
    View the article here: http://www.jpmagazine.com/techartic...4_early_jeep_disk_brake_conversion/index.html

The only junkyard parts you need are the caliper brackets.

Thanks for the info. Where can I get longer wheel studs though? I tried Dorman's website, and the part number didn't come back in a search. Oh, and I got your PM...I'll let you know when I get off duty today about the brackets. Thanks again

They might fit in a Flat Rate box from the Post Office.
